About Us
Founded in 2020, Fire Aside was formed to connect fire professionals with communities in a more personal way, strengthening the barrier between homes and wildfires.
We’ve become the trusted platform for over 100s fire agencies, fire safe councils, and homeowners’ associations across the United States. Our team combines expertise in geospatial and behavioral data, user-centered design, and marketing to address the complex challenges residents and fire departments face in wildfire-prone areas.
We believe wildfire losses are preventable with the right guidance. By promoting meaningful behavioral change and helping people prioritize the mitigations that matter most, we are confident that more homes will be saved.

Fire Aside launches its first product, ChipperDay with Fire Safe Marin.
2021
Fire Aside expands beyond Marin County, adding Mendocino Fire Safe and Santa Clara County Firesafe. The product suite expands with the public-private collaboration to build our Defensible Space Inspection software in conjunction with the Marin Wildfire Prevention Authority.
2023
Fire Aside expands outside of California with Boulder Fire-Rescue in Colorado and North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District in Nevada. 10 California counties adopt Fire Aside’s platform.
2025
Fire Aside supports hundreds of communities across 12 states. Our partner agencies generate four customized resident recommendations every minute. California Wildfire and Forest Resilience Task Force invites Fire Aside to present at a quarterly meeting.
